Triskaideka-FEEL-Ya: 13 Years of Weirdness & Burlesque

May 20, 2023 at 5:44 PMVioletDeVille

Miss Violet DeVille celebrates 13 years of burlesque with a show about the weird, the mysterious, and the delightful.Copyright

Does the number thirteen bother you? May we suggest some exposure therapy? Triskaidekaphobia is a fear of the number 13 and Miss Violet DeVille is the opposite of that; she loves the number 13! She’s a triskaidekaphile. It’s her lucky number. She made her burlesque debut in 2010 at the Little Red Studio and she hasn’t looked back. 13 years later she’s delighted audiences all around the Puget Sound and Washington state, throughout the US, and across Canada.

Triskaideka-FEEL-Ya is a tribute to the eccentricities, peculiarities, and flat-out weirdness that make us all unique. Drawing inspiration from the number 13, a symbol of mystery and superstition, Miss Violet DeVille has curated an unforgettable experience that combines burlesque, music, and theatre.

The show is hosted by Lilith van Dyke and features performances from Miss Violet DeVille, Beau NusHole, Kitten A. Round, Morgan LaMay, Scandal From Bohemia, Sneaky Boo, and Vena Kahlo, each bringing their unique talents and quirks to the stage. Some are veteran performers who have had a strong influence on Miss DeVille to up-and-coming artists in the local burlesque scene, these performers will showcase their abilities in a series of mesmerizing, thought-provoking, or just funny acts that will leave you enthralled.

Triskaideka-FEEL-Ya is Saturday, July 15th at the Rendezvous Jewelbox on 2322 2nd Avenue in Seattle. The show begins at 7:00 pm. Tickets are on sale now at http://pdpr.biz/13

Wheel of Tease Returns for 4 Times the Fun

December 2, 2014 at 6:52 PMVioletDeVille

CopyrightThere are two things you don’t see a lot of in neo-burlesque today: live music and on-the-spot -improvisation. When these two elements do come to pass, the result is a rare and beautiful thing. On the Friday, February6th eight performers, some burlesque stars and a few fresh faces, will take the stage and create spontaneous performances using props and song chosen by members of the audience. The soundtrack to this “kamikaze burlesque” will be performed live by Seattle’s only electro-swing band Good Co. Join us for a night of spur-of-the-moment striptease and silly, sexy fun.

And we're bringing this madness to you four times in 2015.

Sir Eddie Van Glam is back, leading audience members to the stage and helping them select the music Good Co will play and the prop the performer has to dance with.

Each show has a different cast of performers. Some are local, some are from other states, and a few are from another country altogether.

February 6th features Reggie Bügmüncher and Kat De Lac from the Keystone state of Pennsylvania . They'll be joining Lowa de Boom Boom, Miss Violet DeVille, Absurdity Belle, Jesus la Pinga, Morgan LaMay, and The Black Sparrow.

May 8th stars the Paris Original, and features Bettie Fever from Vancouver, B.C., Trixie Paprika, Miss Violet DeVille, Artemis Lark, Morgue Anne, Razzberry Rocket, and Dahlia Ste. cyr.

August 8th brings Vancouver, B.C. starlets Faux Foxy and Ruby Slickeur to our stage along with the local flavor of Cherry "Killer" Tomatoes, Miss Violet DeVille, Bella Luna, Kristina Weena, Mandy Flame, and Verity Germaine.

November sets us up with Rock Hart, the international boylesque sinsation from Edinburgh, Scotland and Port Angeles' own Siouxzie Queen Gypsy and featuring performances from Sara Dipity, Whisper De Corvo, Cirquesse, Miz Melancholy, Magnolia Monroe, and Nickey Bourbon.

10 Captains throw down on January 3rd

November 19, 2014 at 11:19 PMVioletDeVille

The commanding burlesque showdown is back! We have all heard the impassioned, and sometimes very heated, arguments in geek circles. Who is the better captain; is it James T. Kirk or Jean Luc Picard? What about other captains found in television, books, and movies? We have ten captains to put to the test and we aim to settle that little score. And then some with your help. Who will you promote to commodore?

“I think Weird Al summed it up best,” said creator Miss Violet DeVille, “when he said it was the only question he thought was hard in ‘White and Nerdy’. The audience really enjoyed picking their favorites captains.”

Captain Royale Redux is on Saturday, January 3rd at the Re-Bar located at 1114th Howell St. in Seattle. The doors open at 6:30 pm and the show begins at 7:30 pm. Lilith von Fraumench as General Anxiety is our commander of ceremonies leading cast of luminaries featuring Ruby Darling, Claira bell, Violet DeVille, Artemis Lark, Cherry Tart, Mercury Divine, Morgan LaMay, Morgue Anne, Nickey Bourbon, and Tawdry Quirks. Tickets are available on at Brown Paper Tickets and through the Purple Devil Productions website.

Belltown Burlesque Revue: Where We Came From on June 14th

May 9, 2014 at 7:40 PMVioletDeVille

CopyrightWhen June comes to call, some people like to look back at the first half of the year and see where they came from as they plot the way forward through the rest of the year. Rule 34 - If you can think of it, there is porn of it.

Like physics, the internet has its own set of “natural” laws. The most exciting: Rule 34, which states that if you can think of it, there is sexually explicit material of it. Therein lies our inspiration. With a steaming hot cast of burlesque’s finest, Rule 34 explores the deepest depths of our imaginations and the interwebs that bring them to light.

“Why you think the net was born? Porn! Porn! Porn!” – Trekkie Monster, from the hit Broadway musical Avenue Q.

Over 30% of all Internet traffic contains porn and YouPorn.com uses 6 times the bandwidth of the streaming media site Hulu. We think Trekkie Monster might be onto something.

Rule 34 is May 10th at the Re-Bar in Seattle. Mister Bawdy is our Master of Ceremonies, our Potentate of Porn, our Sultan of Smut, and our Dictator of Dirt. Following his lead is Tamara the Trapeze Lady, Boom Boom L’Roux, Whisper De Corvo, Miss Violet DeVille, Maggie McMuffin, Cinnamon Maxxine, Magnolia Monroe, Morgue Anne, Dee Lushious, and Ms. Audrey Rugburn! The doors open at 6:30 pm and seating begins at 7:00 pm with the showing starting at 7:30 pm. Tickets start at $13 and are available through www.BrownPaperTickets.com and for $15 at the box office day of show.
